Boys’ soccer posts two shutouts

Velazquez assists on six goals, scores the other one, in two shutout wins
The Knights celebrate a goal in Friday's win over Harker

2.3.2023 – The Menlo boys’ soccer team sailed to a 5-0 victory over visiting The King’s Academy in WBAL play Friday.
The Knights move to 8-1-1 and keep hold of second place with four games remaining including Sacred Heart Prep (10-0-0) on Wednesday. Alessandro Velazquez, a junior finished with a goal and assisted on the other four. Senior Aidan Skinner scored twice.
In the 18th minute, Skinner delivered a goal from a Velazquez corner kick. Three minutes later, the duo would repeat the feat from the left side. After halftime Velazquez, a junior, fired a shot in from the top of the box, and the Knights led 3-0.
Stevie Halprin netted the Knights fourth goal from a Velazquez feed and senior Dylan Gold added another goal, also from Velazquez, with 14 minutes. left. 

Ben Bishop and Dylan O’Malley, who came on in the last several minutes got another shutout for Menlo.

Menlo 2, Harker 0

The Menlo boys’ soccer team broke a halftime tie en route to a 2-0 victory over host Harker in WBAL play Wednesday.
The Knights (8-4-2) hold on to second place in WBAL with a 7-1-0 record and four games left.
Against the Eagles, freshman Declan Sitter scored twice - both off assists from junior Alessandro Velazquez.
Ben Bishop and Dylan O’Malley combined for the shutout victory.
