Baseball defeats Half Moon Bay, Milpitas

Bianchi goes 5 for 5 with triple, RBI, and adds a save
Menlo senior Jake Bianchi went 6 for 6 with an RBI triple in two games this week.

3.2.2023 – The Menlo School baseball team picked up a 5-2 victory over Milpitas in its home opener on Thursday.
The Knights (3-1) got an RBI triple from senior Jake Bianchi who drove in Colin Dhaliwal, who singled, then Bianchi came home on Jake Sonsini’s hit to tie the score at 2 in the fourth inning.
Freshman Jack Freehill and Dhaliwal singled in the fifth. They both would score - on an error and a wild pitch then Carson Cleage, who reached base on an error, comes around on a steal and an error.
Ryan Schnell (2-0) picks up the win, striking out six, walking two and allowing two earned runs on six hits. Bianchi gets the save, with four strikeouts in two innings.

 

 Menlo 4, Half Moon Bay 2

The Knights broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth when senior Jake Bianchi, who had singled and went to third on a pair of errors, and scored after a balk. Garrett Tran tripled then came home on Sudar Karhteepan’s single in the fifth. 

Bianchi went 3 for 3 and drove in freshman Jack Freehill in the sixth. The Knights made no errors in the field.

Senior Colin Dhaliwal allowed no hits and struck out six in five innings for the victory.
