Girls’ lacrosse falls to Mitty 11-10

In a down-to-the-wire finish, the Menlo girls’ lacrosse team dropped an 11-10 decision to visiting Mitty in a WBAL game Friday afternoon.
It was the first loss for the Knights, who entered the game undefeated at 4-0. Menlo jumped out with a quick start when Madison Vitro and Elia Choe scored in the opening minutes. The Monarchs went on a 3-0 run and kept the lead. Menlo tied the game twice in the second half, including 10-all after Kylie Jones scored, then Choe scored her sixth goal in 10 shots for the night.
Hannah Bernthal scored twice in the second half to pace the Knights. Kylie Jones added a goal and assist and Devon Schaefer stopped eight shots.
Menlo next plays at Menlo-Atherton next Friday.
