Baseball comes back from losses with win

Knights defeat American 
Menlo freshman Jack Freehill went 3 for 3, including a double, against Sacred Heart Prep in Game 1

3.25.2023 –Menlo School baseball ran away with a 17-0 non-league win against visiting American on Saturday.

Knights senior Carson Cleage belted a trio of home runs and finished with five RBI. Jake Bianchi, also a senior, delivered a grand slam while junior Jake Sonsini went 4 for 5. Jacob Lee, a junior,  picked up the win. The Knights next play host to Woodside on Tuesday.

SHP 2-9, Menlo 1-0

The Knights dropped a pair of Peninsula Athletic League-Ocean games to Sacred Heart Prep. 

In the first matchup with SHP, Menlo stayed locked into a 1-1 tie until Conrad Wilbur’s walk-off base hit gave the Gators the edge. 

Knights freshman Jack Freehill goes 3 for 3, including a double, and scores on Colin Dhaliwal’s triple. Dhaliwal allowed just two hits, struck out five in 5 1/3 innings.  

In the second matchup, Colin Dhaliwal went 2 for 3 with a double but the Knights couldn’t get past four-run innings in the fourth and seventh of a 9-0 loss.
