Ma-Temsamani win WBAL doubles crown

Menlo freshmen Yuanye Ma and Arki Temsamani went 4-0, winning the WBAL doubles championship at home Tuesday. The Knights defeated SHP’s Aarav Chandrasekar-Neal Chopra 6-4, 6-1 in the final.

Tudor Braicu advanced to the singles semifinal before falling to Pinewood’s Jason Rowe in a tiebreaker.

WBAL Championships, Day 1

Menlo School boys’ tennis will send a singles player and a doubles team to the WBAL semifinals after they won their Day One matches at home Monday.
Menlo senior Tudor Braicu defeated Kyle Chai of Sacred Heart Prep in the Round of 16 with an 8-3 match. Braicu then beat Alex Yang of Nueba 6-0, 6-2. Braicu will play Pinewood’s Jason Rowe at 11:45 am.

Menlo’s freshman duo of Arki Semsamani and Yuanye Ma did not drop a set en route to the doubles semifinals. They beat their first-round opponents from Crystal 8-0 then defeated Nueva 6-0, 6-0. The Menlo duo faces Alizadeh and Mormell of Crystal at 11:45 Tuesday.


Knights senior Linus Hanson and Octave Moha fell in the Round of 16.
Anton Lim of Crystal plays Gordon Jung of The King’s Academy in the other singles semifinal.

Harker doubles Vidyarthi-Zhang meets SHP’s Aarav Chandrasekar-Neal Chopra in the other semifinal.
