Baseball defeats Mills 5-2

Menlo's Carson Cleage belted a three-run homer in a 5-2 win over Mills on Senior Night

5.9.2023 – The Menlo baseball team got early homers from Jake Sonsini and Carson Cleage and held on for a 5-2 Peninsula Athletic League-Ocean victory over visiting Mills on Tuesday.
The Knights (14-10, 6-7) took a 4-0 lead into the fourth after Jake Sonsini led off the second with a solo home run. Then in the third, Carson Cleage homered to score fellow senior Colin Dhaliwal, who reached on a fielder’s choice and freshman Jack Freehill, who singled.
The Knights added another run when senior Jake BIanchi, who doubled to lead off the fifth, then scored on a fly-out.
Menlo left-handed pitcher Dhaliwal (5-2) allowed two earned runs on six hits, walking one and striking out four in 6 1/3 innings. Bianchi came in to close out the game as the seniors all pitched in for the win.

Jacob Lee and Trey McNair each had a pair of hits.
