CCS: Boys’ lacrosse loses tight quarterfinals match-up

Knights close season 10-7, play first CCS game

5.12.2023 – The Menlo boys’ lacrosse team dropped an 8-7 down-to-the-wire decision to league foe St. Francis in the CCS quarterfinal at home Friday.
The Knights finished the season with a 10-7 overall record and was 5-2 for third in West Catholic Athletic League play, just a game back from SHP.
In the quarterfinal, the Knights tied the game right after halftime on Keane Murphy’s goal. Palmer Riley added another near the end of the quarter, and Menlo took a 5-4 advantage heading into the fourth. Opening the fourth, Lucas Vogel fired one in followed by Caden Chock’s goal and Menlo lead 7-4 before the Lancers fought back in the fourth. St. Francis peeled off four unanswered goals goals for the win.
