With two out, Menlo junior Luke Rogers stepped up the plate, took a deep breath and sent a hard-hit chopper down the third-base line for a walk-off hit, and a 6-5 win Tuesday over South San Francisco sending the Knights to the CCS Div. VI Championships.

The top seed Knights (20-9) will play No. 3 Lincoln of San Jose (23-4) in Thursday’s final, 7:00 pm at Excite Ballpark. Ticket information, livestream and fan policy.

Rogers hit his walk-off after fellow junior Ben Salama sent a hard single to center to get the winning run on base. Jackson Flanagan, a sophomore closer, drew a walk and Logan Tran, running for starter Salama advanced to third on a groundout.

Flanagan picked up the victory, allowing a run and a lone run in two innings. Salama allowed four hits, three earned runs while striking out four, including two in a 1-2-3 fifth inning.

Knights senior Garrett Tran went 3 for 3 with an RBI and two runs. Senior Jake Sonsini and sophomore Renner Barnett each had two-run doubles. Senior Mikey McGrath had one of Menlo’s 10 hits and stole two bases.
