The Menlo School football team completed non-league play with a 5-0 mark after a 31-7 win over visiting Miramonte on Saturday.
The Knights head into Peninsula Athletic League-Bay Division play after a bye week, then will play Wilcox at home.
Jack Freehill delivered touchdowns to three targets -Tyler Fernandez, Chuck Wynn and Jack Enright after running in for the first. He completed 17 of 35 passes for 275 yards and finished with 311 all-purpose yards.
Senior David Mhatre was relentless, making seven sacks, knocking a ball loose, and recovering the fumble.
Menlo dictated the game starting at the end of the third quarter,
Menlo finished a drive that started at the end of the third when junior Chuck Wynn took a Freehill pass, and rumbled half the field into the end zone for a 24-7 advantage with 10:09 left in the game.
Wynn kicked off then ran down field, making the tackle on Miramonte’s returner after he gained a few yards. Two plays later, Knights senior Brett Frauenhofer made an interception. On the next play, Freehill threw to Jack Enright, who bolted down the sideline and into the end zone for a 62-yard score and a 31-7 lead.
After Menlo scored on their first possession - a Tyler Fernandez reception from Freehill, Miramonte responded with a scoring drive of its own as Andrew Bjorensen pulled in a pass from Carson Blair and ran for a TD.
