Lauren was recently recognized as a Runner-Up for the National Center for Women & IT (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing Award, one of only 350 out of almost 2,500 young women who applied. The award honors computing-related aspirations; outstanding aptitude and interest in information technology and computing; solid leadership ability; good academic history; and plans for post-secondary education.

As a freshman Lauren initiated an Upper School Robotics Club and was captain of a successful robotics team in the FIRST Tech Challenge. The team was one of 36 out of more than 100 to move on from the NorCal State Championship after winning several awards, including the Control Award, Inspire Award and PTC design award. Lauren continues to serve as President of the Robotics Club, which is fielding three teams this year in the FIRST Tech Challenge, and is mentoring a new Middle School robotics club.
