Biography

This is a year-long course.

This course is designed to explore the intersection of music and culture and will include listening, occasional reading, and short presentations. Several American musical styles will be covered, and some artists featured include Snoop Dogg, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Tupac, Aretha Franklin, H.E.R., The Beatles, Bob Marley, Duke Ellington and many more. Final projects will include an annotated playlist drawing connections to styles, artists, time period, and cultural relevance.
