Edward Sweeney

Music@Menlo

Executive Director

Biography

I have spent more than thirty years working in classical music organizations. Prior to joining Music@Menlo in 2007 as its second executive director, I spent five years in New York City as vice president and general manager for the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.
Before that, I worked at the Aspen Music Festival and School as general manager. The highlight of my tenure in Aspen was serving as project manager for the construction of two new concert halls: Harris Concert Hall, which opened in 1993, and the Bayer-Benedict Music Tent, which opened in 2000. In addition to my duties at Music@Menlo, I was recently appointed as a commissioner on the San Mateo County Arts Commission, representing Redwood City, East Palo Alto, and part of Menlo Park.

I grew up in Colorado, but home is now Redwood City, where I live with my wife, two children, and a dog and cat who are not on speaking terms.
