My career began as a newspaper and wire photographer in the 1980s. I covered every level of sports from high school to the pros. I worked for the Peninsula Times Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, A.P. among others. In 1990, I concentrated purely on sports working for trading card companies, sports magazines, pro-leagues and professional teams. From 1990-2009 I was a team photographer for the San Francisco Giants. I also served as team photographer for the short-lived San Francisco Spiders minor league hockey team. Looking back on over 25 years of sports coverage, high school sports was always my favorite level to cover. To me, it’s still the purest form of competition.
This has brought me to Menlo School where I hope to bring that enthusiasm and energy to our sports programs. In my spare time I like to hang out with family and friends and watch sports (when I’m not doing that on a sideline somewhere). I also enjoy not hiking.
