Biography

After spending the last seven years in Los Angeles, I moved to the Bay Area in 2019 where I am excited to see strange new things like these so-called “trees” and this mysterious “rain.” Although I began college studying mathematics, I was captivated by courses in creative writing and fairy tales and eventually made the jump from STEM to Liberal Arts. I received both a summa cum laude BA and an MA in English from Loyola Marymount University, where I then taught courses ranging from fairy tales and classical mythology, to Jesuit rhetoric and argument, to an upper division seminar in East Asian Pop Culture (yes, that includes both K-pop and Anime). I’ve worked in real estate, medical billing, nonprofits, and publishing houses, but teaching has consistently proven to hold my heart.

When I am not at the front of the classroom or in my office, I am likely playing cards or D&D with my wife, trying to solve some funky new riddle, or reading my first drafts to my two dachshunds, Montgomery & Renaissance.
