 Kate Park ’14 was selected to receive the Frederick Emmons Terman Engineering Scholastic Award for distinguished academic performance at Stanford University. Each year, Terman Awards go to the top 5 percent of senior engineering majors
at the school. This year, she was also accepted to the Harvard Business School as part of its 2+2 Program.
Caroline McConnell Wheeler ’14 returned to Menlo this summer to work as a development intern at Music@Menlo, the renowned chamber music festival presented on campus each summer. Caroline just graduated from Carleton College this spring where she was a psychology major and neuroscience minor.
John Bergeson ’15 was selected as a James B. Angell Scholar
at the University of Michigan’s 95th Annual Honors Convocation held in March. A junior in the university’s honors program in literature, science, and the arts, John is studying sociology and public policy. He also plays on the university’s club baseball team.
RJ Babiera ’16 and recent graduate Emilio Simbeck ’18 reconnected at the US Naval Academy Induction Day in June. Coincidentally, the duo, who played Menlo football together, were assigned to the same company.

Jun Ru Anderson ’17 won a Grand Prize at the Brown University Datathon on March 4 for her project that sought to show if ratings of scholarly articles are correlated with gender.
Andrew Yock ’17 was part of a team from the University of Southern California that won the annual Medical Make-a-Thon at UC Davis in February. Andrew’s team beat out 14 other teams in a competition “to build a device that speeds up the production process of gel plates used in the diagnosis of coccidioidomycosis, a soil fungus native to the San Joaquin Valley of California— hence its other name, Valley Fever.”
