1-2) Greater Purposes: During service week, Middle School students served as buddies to younger students at local elementary schools, supporting them in reading and art projects and planting school gardens. They also hosted a carnival for their 196 buddy students that included games, snow cones, lunch, and arts and crafts. 3) Virtual Reality: Faculty participated in a workshop exploring virtual reality and
its potential impacts on teaching and learning. 4) Lots O’ Fun: Tenth and eleventh graders enjoyed “random acts of fun,” featuring activities, snacks, and an opportunity to pie the Head of School. 5) Get Animated: Upper School art students made characters for stop-motion animated films. 6) Maker Fest: Students showcased their innovations at the annual maker fair. 7) Special Olympics: Students cheered on athletes at Menlo’s 29th Annual Special Olympics. 8) Let It Snow: Seventh graders went to Donner Summit for their Outdoor Ed retreat, where a late spring snowstorm dropped over eight inches of snow. Instead of hiking, they built a snowman and played in the snow. 9) Victorious Trials: Mock Trial celebrated its State Championship victory. 10) Stay Well: Middle School Wellness Week included a special visit by therapy animals from Jasper Ridge Farm. 11) Robotics Club: Students participated in a VEX robotics tournament at Google.
