In its first home jamboree, the Menlo School flag football team defeated Notre Dame-Belmont 32-0 then The King’s Academy 18-14 on Wednesday, .
Menlo extended its win streak to eight, and faces Pioneer next in a doubleheader Monday at home.

Menlo freshman Ava Allen had a hand in all eight touchdowns for the Knights on Wednesday - she threw for five, rushed for two and caught a TD reception from Paige Miller.

Against Notre Dame-Belmont, sophomore Sophie Housser opened the game with an interception nearly scoring before Allen found her for a touchdown reception. Miller, a senior, threw to Allen for the conversion and a 7-0 advantage. Allen would connect with receivers senior Summer Young to take a 13-0 lead, then Housser before halftime and the Knights jump ahead 19-0. Allen added a rushing touchdown and two more TD passes - one to senior Kylie Jones and the other to junior Ellie Knoll for the shutout.

In the game against TKA, Miller threw a touchdown pass to Allen before Allen turned around and found sophomore Krista Arreola for a 12-8 lead. Allen ran in for the last score and the Knights defense held tough. Housser, Miller, Knoll, and sophomores Marin Yamada and Bianca Putanec also had outstanding performances on defense.
