Knights hold on to second in league with one series left

Menlo School baseball swept Half Moon Bay in PAL-Ocean Division play Thursday on the road.

Ben Salama picked up the victory, allowing 3 hits, walking 3 and striking out 7 in 6 innings. Jackson Flanagan wraps up the shutout. -Luke Rogers 2 hits, and a steal

In the 1st, Jack Freehill, who reached on a dropped third strike, scored on a Garrett Tran sac fly. Luke Rogers singled then scored on a wild pitch. In the 3rd, Renner Barnett 2-run triple, driving in Mikey McGrath and Garrett Tran. Jake Sonsini singles, scoring Barnett.

Menlo 5, Half Moon Bay 3

Menlo baseball  used a four-run third inning to defeat the Cougars at home Tuesday.
Down 2-1, the Knights’ Mikey McGrath hit two-run double, scoring Jack Freehill (HBP) and Luke Rogers (2B). McGrath stole home for a 4-2 lead. Garrett Tran, who singled to reach base, scored on a sac fly.
Ryan Schnell picked up the victory, allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits, striking out 6 and walking 1 in 6 innings.
Jackson Flanagan gets the save and the Knights improve to 15-9 overall, 7-4 PAL-Ocean
