Senior Taylor Taweel, also known by her stage name Taylor Grey, recently released her second music video “Love Sweet Love” on iTunes and YouTube on Sep. 2. Taweel has been singing since she was five years old but has recently become more committed. Being able to write and finish her own songs has been a very rewarding process for her. Singing was originally something Taweel would do on the side but now she is much more committed. “Since I don’t play a sport, singing is […] my sport,” Taweel said.

Shooting the music video was a two-day process that took place down in Ojai, California, and Taweel found out that shooting was not easy. At one point the shoot went into a field with rattlesnake, forcing Taweel to accessorize her outfit with industrial combat boots. Although making the video was an extensive process, she particularly enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the opportunity to work with a professional production team. Last year it was hard for Taweel to find time to pursue her music, so this year she opted to take an independent study with Menlo choir teacher Karen Linford. This course will focus on songwriting, a strong passion of Taweel’s.

Overall, she is going to continue practicing her songwriting and is hoping to release some new songs in the future.
