KNIGHTtime News Don’t ask your friends
about their decisions.
This one seems obvious. If you haven’t heard from your friends about whether or not they’ve gotten in, that’s probably on purpose. Make yourself available and be open to listen, but don’t be the one to bring it up.
Don’t reach out to the college and ask them to reconsider.
The harsh truth: in the early round, a no is a no is a no. If it weren’t a no, it would be a deferral. Please don’t
reach out to the college and ask them to reconsider your application. We advocate for all of our students before admissions decisions are released, so please rest assured we did everything we could on your behalf. A call from Mr. Healy or Mr. Mettille will not turn a no into a yes. It’s best to move on and focus on what’s ahead.
Don’t forget you’re still a senior at Menlo School.
You get into college, you’re so excited, you start thinking about
GUIDING YOUR COLLEGE PROCESS
your dorm and your new school colors and your new environment for next year but... you still have
an entire semester at Menlo left to enjoy! Too many times I’ve heard seniors express regret about the college application process taking away from their senior year. Don’t let that happen to you. Be in control, be present, and have fun!
