Dear Menlo Alumni,
John Schafer, Menlo’s Upper School Director, has said about Menlo alumni: “No matter where they go, the Menlo connection remains incredibly strong.” Ever since taking on the Director of Alumni position here at Menlo, I’ve seen Mr. Schafer’s words proven true again and again, as alumni send me all sorts of stories that reinforce his observation.

is connection was especially evident during Homecoming festivities. I had the pleasure of mingling with many of you before and during this year’s football game, and while I was grati ed to see old connections re-established, it was even more heartening to see interactions between people who had never lost touch at all.
In particular, the Class of 1964 took some initiative and staged a mini reunion of their own that weekend. I couldn’t keep up with them during the game, let alone a er, but they looked like they were having a great time in the bleachers catching up, reminiscing, and laughing. Later, I found out they all went to dinner together and then many of them met again for breakfast the next morning.
Can you imagine staying in touch with Menlo friends more than 50 years a er graduation? at’s the kind of connection I’m dedicated to helping you maintain.
