 From Thin Air
Two hydropanels have been set up on the Menlo campus courtesy of Zero Mass Water. Through thermodynamics, materials science, and controls technology, the units produce on average 2-5 liters of drinking water each day from sunlight and air. In addition to these units on campus, Zero Mass Water has donated an additional unit for our Menlo Abroad India trip students to install in a rural village this May.
The Kenyan Boys Choir
The choir of 25 schoolboys from various Kenyan backgrounds and tribes performed at Menlo at an event that featured Craig Kielburger speaking about how we can all make a di erence in our communities and around the world, shifting from “me” to “we.”

Awesome!
Menlo philosophy teacher and water polo coach Jack Bowen presented
a TEDxStanford talk entitled “This
Is Awe.” After opening with an interactive drum solo, Bowen spoke about approaching life from a position of awe. Rooted in theories
from his philosophy teachings, this idea, he says, can lead one to achieve virtues such as happiness, gratitude, mindfulness, and compassion. Bowen also released his fourth book in August, Sport, Ethics, and Leadership, which explores central ethical issues in contemporary sport.
Chief Talk
