1) Taos, New Mexico, Trip: In June, Middle School students traveled to New Mexico to learn about the Taos Indians. 2) 2017 Valpo Run: Menlo showed its true colors at a color run supporting Peninsula Bridge hosted jointly with Sacred Heart. 3) Solar Eclipse: While some faculty traveled to totality to view the solar eclipse, most returned to Menlo from summer break and viewed it together. 4) Washington, D.C., Trip: Eighth graders made their annual trek to the nation’s capital. 5) Lunchtime Jam Session: Members of Menlo’s multitalented faculty performed on
the new Commons patio as students sang along. 6) Beekeeping Club: Upper School beekeepers harvested honey and wax and sold assorted candles and soaps as well as honey during lunch. 7) Technology Center Opening: Celebrating the opening of Menlo’s newest facility, Mandarin students performed the lion dance to keep evil spirits away. 8) Random Acts of Fun: The Menlo Parents Association (MSPA) hosted various surprise “acts of fun” on campus including a giant game of Jenga.
