The Menlo girls’ basketball team made a valiant fourth-quarter charge, but fell just short to host Marin Catholic 46-36 in a CIF-NorCal Div. III quarterfinal Thursday.

The Knights closed their season with a 19-9 overall mark and secured a record fourth CCS Championship in a row.

In the NorCal quarterfinal, senior Ruiqi Liu finished with 16 points and fellow senior Karen posted 10. The Knights narrowed the deficit in the fourth as Xin and sophomores Sophia Longinidis and Allen found their touch, all dropping threes, but the Knights couldn’t make up enough ground.
