About the Team
The Knights play in the highly competitive WBAL this season. In the final match of the 2023 season, four players had a season low. The Knights consistently send several players to the CCS Championships.
The Knights recently enjoyed their winningest seasons in program history. In 2018, not only did the team make its first appearance in the state championships, the Knights finished third overall after taking second at both the CCS and NorCal Championships. Menlo, which won the CCS regional in 2018, finished top seven in its past three regionals. Menlo has compiled a 68-12 record in league play the past eight seasons. The Knights featured a CCS individual champion in 2008, 2010, and 2012.
The Coach
Mark Madayag (Fourth Season)
Madayag is a golf pro and has organized several development programs. He coached the junior league program for seven consecutive winning seasons as a golf pro at the Palo Alto Golf Course. He has been a Class A member of the PGA of America since 1998, and is also a certified coach and mentor for the First Tee Silicon Valley Chapter. He has been coaching the PGA Junior League team in Palo Alto since 2014 and has won two championships. His teaching style is described as a blend of the latest game - improvement techniques which can help improve any golfer. Early in his career, he was a golf pro and assistant manager at Harding Park Golf Course.
