The Menlo girls’ flag football team climbed back from a five-point halftime deficit en route to a 28-26 win against visiting Atwater on Monday.

The Knights (3-0) came back with junior Ava Allen’s 4-yard keeper for the go-ahead touchdown, and senior Sophie Housser picked up the conversion. Sophomore Anika Shah leaped to grab an Atwater pass with 45 seconds remaining to seal the victory.

The Falcons led 19-14 at hafltime. After Atwater pulled ahead 26-14, Allen found Housser for a touchdown then ran in for conversion to narrow the deficit again.Allen also had TD passes to sophomore Kaelee Wang and senior Marin Yamada. Senior Maren Mulloy and Allen added conversions in the first half.
