Runners take on Clovis Invitational

Knights fight illness at Clovis meet, come aay with PRs

​Menlo School took its teams to the 46th Annual Clovis Invitational, and came away with big finishes on Friday. The girls finished 10th among 20 in the team competition.
Despite fighting illness, senior Ariya Kaushek took third place in the Varsity Girls Div. VI race in a field of 125 runners. She ran the 5,000 meters in 19:25.4. Senior Halle Blanchard was the Knights’ second finisher in 21:52.4 for 54th while junior Bella Ewers clocked in at 22:07.7. Sophomore Annika Lecybil was fourth, followed by freshman Maddy Lee, senior Anya Ramani and sophomore Lila Ozdemir.
Missing two of its runners, the boys’ team still had a strong showing, paced by sophomore Oliver Olbekson, who was 36th among 110 runners in 15:56.6, bettering his freshman time by over a minute. Senior Amay Srinivasan was Menlo’s second finisher in 16:08.5, improving his 2024 team by nearly 1 minute. Junior Joseph Hurd was Menlo’s third finisher, followed by sophomore Jack Harman and junior Ethan Shapero.
