The Menlo School cross country team hit the ground running at the WBAL Meet 2 at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale.

The varsity girls finished third at the WBALMeet 2In the varsity boys’ race, Menlo won with 20 points and all six in the top 16 in the 49-runner field. The King’s Academy was second with 66 and Harker third with 81 points.

Finishing 1-2-3, junior Henry Hauser ran in 15:49.6, senior Amay Srinivasan 16:04.5 and sophomore Oliver Olbekson in 16:13 on the 3.1-mile course.

​Junior Joseph Hurd took sixth in 16:43.1 and sophomore Toliver Bates eighth in 16:45.0. Sophomoire Jack Harman was 10th in 16:57.5 and junior Jonah Block was 16th in 17:35.4.

Menlo took third in the varsity girls’ race, and senior Ariya Kaushek was Menlo’s top finisher iin 20:18.5 for seventh. Fellow seniors Halle Blanchard was 11th in 20:45.7 and Anya Ramani 14th in 21:20.0.

Freshman Maddy Lee, and sophomores Annika Lecybill rounded out the Knights team.

​The JV boys also won the team competition, and the JV girls took sixth.
