Boys win third WBAL title in a row; girls take third
The Menlo cross country teams again earned a bid to the CCS Championships with the boys winning their third consecutive league championship and the girls taking third at the WBAL finals at Hallmark Park-Belmont on Friday.
The varsity boys finished more than 50 points lower than their closest competitor, taking first with 21 points. The King’s Academy was second with 72 and Harker third with 79
The varsity girls were third overall.

The varsity boys took five of the top 10 spots with sophomore Oliver Olbekson in second in 15:31.1 on the 2.95-mile course. Senior Amay Srinivasan was third in 16:05.3, sophomore Toliver Bates fourth in 16:13.2 and junior Ethan Shapero fifth in 16:13.6.
Sophomore Jack Harman placed seventh (16:18.2), junior Joseph Hurd 12th (16:40.0 and senior Raj Kaushek 21st (17:33.4)
Seniors Ariya Kaushek and Halle Blanchard led the way for the girls, crossing the finish in fourth in 19:20.5 and 11th in 20:28.7, respectively. Senior Anya Ramani was the Knights’ third finisher in 16th in 21:15.0. Junior Bella Ewers and freshman Maddy Lee came in 28th (22:14.0) and 29th (22:17.3), respectively/ Sophomores Annika Lecybil (22:24.5) amnd Grace Knowles (24:16.5) rounded out the crew.
The JV boys took 14 of the top 20 finishes to capture a league title and the JV girls were third at the meeet.
