Boys’ soccer pick up WBAL wins

Menlo senior Chuck Wynn delivered the go-ahead goal against The King's Academy, and finished the week with two assists.

Menlo 5, Harker 0

The Menlo boys’ soccer team cruised to a 5-0 win against Harker in West Bay Athletic League at home Friday.

Senior Cameron Rafati scored twice, Declan Sitter, Stevie Halprin and Allen Wang added goals for the Knights, who move to 7-3-2 overall and 5-1-0 in league. .Menlo plays at Sacred HeartPrep (5-0-0) on Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Matthew Bowden posted two assists while Chuck Wynn and Reed Sunwoo added one each. Sebastian Quezada and Dylan O’ Malley combined for the shutout.

Menlo 4, The King’s Academy 2

The Menlo boys’ soccer team picked up a 4-2 WBAL win, defeating The King’s Academy on the road Wednesday.
The Knights (6-3-2 overall, 4-1-0 league) rallied from a 2-1 halftime deficit.
Menlo sophomore Blake Putanec scored a goal in each half, including the tying goal on an assist from senior Chuck Wynn, who would later score the go-ahead goal unassisted. Senior Stevie Halprin added an insurance goal on Tyler McMullen’s feed.
