Boys’ tennis defeats Saratoga, SHP

Knights improve to 18-0

In a duel between CCS powerhouses, Menlo School boys’ tennis defeated Saratoga 5-2 in a hard-fought match at home Wednesday.
The Knights improved to 18-0 overall, and today face Pinewood, the last in a three-match week.

Junior Lucas Huang defeated Akiva Goldwasser 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Senior Yuanye Ma and freshman Maximus Chan fell at Nos. 1 and 4 singles.
The Knights swept doubles with senior Arki Temsamani, junior David Lipeles, sophomores Riley Huang and freshmen Sage Ash, Miles Burnett, and Alex Zhou p[icking up straight-set wins.

Menlo 7, Sacred Heart Prep 0

The Menlo School boys’ tennis team swept visiting Sacred Heart Prep to improve to 8-0 in West Bay Athletic League play Tuesday,
The Knights (17-0) swept the season series against the Gators and continue a full week, hosting Saratoga on Wednesday afternoon in a match-up of CCS powers and then Pinewood on Thursday.
Menlo celebrated its four seniors - Yuanye Ma, Arki Temsamani, Matthew Franc, and Brad Engel - who helped lead the Knights to league, CCS and NorCal titles, and a trip to the state championship last year, and a National All-America Invitational championship so far this season.
