Menlo baseball swept the season series against Capuchino with a resounding 14-0, five-inning win Wednesday, and the Knights improved to 7-3 in PAL-Bay Division play.
Senior catcher Chuck Wynn belted two homers - one in the second and one in the fourth - after the Knights (15-7) bolted out of the blocks with a six-run, first.
In the first, sophomore third baseman Liam Widner’s RBI single with one out. Junior Matthew Majalya had an RBI double, senior Renner Barnett had a two-run double and junior Battle Scott added an RBI double for a 6-0 advantage.
Widner threw all five innings, striking out four and walking one.
Zach Roeder and Fletcher Cahill also homered for the Knights. It was the second multi-homer game for Wynn, who had three home runs in a 17-1, five inning win over Aptos.
Roeder went 3 for 3 with two RBI and two runs as Menlo tallied 15 hits.
On Monday, Menlo recorded a 6-1 win over the Mustangs.
Roeder homered to left, plating two runs. Senior right-hander Jackson Flanagan earned the win for the Knights, allowing three hits and no runs in four innings.
