Girls’ lacrosse rallies, but falls in CCS semifinals

Knights climb back in second half of 16-10 loss

Defender-tunred-goalie Marin Yamada made four saves in the second half of a CCS semifinal at St. Ignatius.

The Menlo girls’ lacrosse team charged back in the second half, but fell to St. Ignatius in a CCS Div. I semifinal Thursday in San Francisco.
The Knights finished the season third in West Bay Athletic League play and held a 13-6 overall record.
Against SI, ​Smith-bound senior Marin Yamada made four saves as the Knights climbed back from a 13-3 halftime deficit. Senior Elia Choe​, who is set to play for Amherst, posted three goals and three groundballs.
Freshman Tate Goldman had a hat trick while sophomore Kaelee Wang added a pair of goals and an assist.

Dartmouth-bound senior Hannah Bernthal​ added a goal, an assist and seven draw​ controls​. Senior Maren Mulloy​, who is headed to Stanford, added ​one goal, and three draw controls ​and sophomore Payton Lee ​picked up three more groundballs.
