Biography

I grew up in Michoacán, Mexico, before coming to East Palo Alto, CA, in 2001. As one of the first people in my family to graduate from high school and go to college, my college graduation was a monumental accomplishment in my life. Having benefited from the support of many programs in East Palo Alto inspired me to return to my community after graduation. I began my career in education after earning my BA in Anthropology with a Spanish Minor from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.

Before joining Menlo, I worked at the San Francisco 49ers Academy. As their program Director, I served as a strong advocate and liaison for families who transitioned from Ravenswood to Menlo-Atherton High School; one of my proudest accomplishments to date is founding their High School Program in 2014. I am excited to continue my passion for supporting and empowering families at Menlo School.

I live in East Palo Alto with my husband, our daughter Nicole ’28, who will be attending Menlo this fall, our three-year-old terrier mix named Rosie, and over 50 houseplants. We are excited to join the Menlo community.
