Biography
I joined Menlo in 2025 to lead the Upper School theater program after three decades in professional theatre on Broadway, on tour, and on regional and international stages. Principally a director, my path was through apprenticeship, developed in the artistic trenches of rehearsal rooms alongside generous mentors such as Doug Hughes and Matthew Warchus, and inspiring artists including Christopher Gattelli and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
For me, theatre is less about perfection than about the brave, messy process of discovery — trying things, discarding what doesn’t work, and learning together in community. Rehearsal and performance offer students a place to take risks, support each other, and find their own voice. In this way, theatre becomes rehearsal for real life, cultivating presence, empathy, and the courage to keep going.
When not locked away in a theatre or rehearsal hall, I enjoy swimming, long walks with my dog, cheering for my hometown Phillies, and searching for the perfect cup of coffee.
