Biography
I am honored to join Menlo School as Director of Creative Arts. Throughout my career, I have been guided by the belief that the arts help students better understand themselves, connect with others, and engage meaningfully with the world. I have taught a wide range of studio arts—2D and 3D, functional and digital media—and have served in leadership roles as Visual Arts Department Chair at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, my alma mater, and at Francis Parker School in Chicago.
My journey began in Providence, Rhode Island, where I was part of the founding middle school faculty at The Paul Cuffee School. I hold a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Master’s in Teaching from Brown University. Most recently, I spent a year living in Japan, where traditions of craft and reverence for materials are deeply woven into everyday life. That experience reaffirmed my belief in the power of the arts to shape our values, strengthen our communities, and embody a collective spirit.
At Menlo, I am excited to draw on my experience as both educator and leader to weave connections across disciplines, nurture collaboration, and support students as they engage deeply with ideas, culture, and meaningful dialogue.
