Catalyst Latin Teacher

Biography

I’m excited to be joining Menlo as a Latin teacher with the Catalyst program!

Latin reeled me in during my B.A. at UC Berkeley, where I double majored in history and classics. As a freshman, I took a classics class on a whim and have been hooked ever since. From my first Latin class onward, I felt like a whole new world was opening for me: Latin’s grammar rules and exceptions captivated me and gave me a whole new perspective on English and the nature of languages themselves. What I previously considered a dead language came alive within my head, as Latin began revealing its patterns, riddles, and variances.

Since graduating, I have taught and tutored English and Latin through the AP level, and am currently working on my Master’s in Library and Information Science.

In my free time, I enjoy reading historical fiction and nonfiction, watching true crime documentaries, finding new matcha spots, and adding to my Duolingo streak.
