Biography

Born in Mexico and raised in North Carolina, I relocated to the Bay Area in 2012 after earning a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish at UNCW. I solidified my love for teaching after working as an intern teacher at the Breakthrough Collaborative in San Francisco. This organization strives to give high-achieving, low-income middle school students the necessary tools to attain a college education.

I worked as a Special Education teacher and mentor at Everest Public High School in Redwood City for four years. Beyond teaching, I mentored a group of 10 amazing Everest students through all four years of the college process and proudly walked each one across the graduation stage Spring of 2016.

In my spare time, I enjoy surfing, woodworking, hiking, and spending time with my wife Sarah, our dogs Apollo and Cheyenne, and two cats: Little Pete and Doug.
