Biography

Though originally from Bermuda, I attended boarding school at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts before moving on to Georgetown University. I pursued a wide variety of subjects in college but ultimately decided on a degree in literature.

Having experienced the power of inspirational teachers in high school and college, I moved into education after graduating from Georgetown. I taught English for five years at Canterbury School, a small boarding school in Connecticut, where I also served as a dorm parent and coached swimming and crew.

After five years at Canterbury, I moved to New York, where I completed a master’s degree in private school leadership through the Klingenstein Center at Teachers College, Columbia University.

The classroom is my favorite place to be, but outside of school, I look for opportunities to escape from technology by hiking, traveling, and getting lost in a good novel. Having grown up on an island, I also enjoy just about any activity that involves being in or on the water.
