Biography

I came to teaching after two decades as a research scientist. A graduate of Yale University (BA, Physical Anthropology) and UC Irvine (Ph.D., Biological Sciences), I began teaching as a volunteer when my children were in elementary school. Once I discovered that teaching is more fun than spending time at the lab bench, I turned in my lab coat and took up teaching full time.

I have taught math and science at Castilleja, Corte Madera, and Eastside College Preparatory schools. I was a long-term substitute in the Mathematics Department at Menlo during the 2007-08 school year, and I am so pleased to have returned. In my spare time, I can be found at the piano or covered in clay at my potter’s wheel.
