Construction Updates November 2016

November news and updates about Menlo’s center of campus construction project.

November 28

The underground utility and plumbing work will continue in Stent Family Hall this week as will mechanical and electrical locating and on-site design. The demolition of the building’s exterior stucco and structural concrete work at the lower level are ongoing. For the Technology Center, the internal bracing installation and shoring walls below grade will continue as will soil excavation. Scaffolding was also recently put up on the facade of Stent Family Hall to complete some painting and maintenance work while the building is vacant for construction.

 

November 14

This week, there will be loud concrete chipping November 14-16 as we work to complete demolition of the large concrete footing at the exterior of Stent Family Hall. The underground utility installation, including the fire water and storm drain lines, is ongoing as is the installation of the underground plumbing line at the back of the new kitchen. At the Technology Center site, dirt excavation with large equipment will be happening, and trucks will be removing dirt from the site along with shoring piles and lagging installation.

 

November 7

The underground utility installation, including storm drain lines, will happen in Stent Hall this week. There are several activities this week that will be noisy, including the exterior stucco demo at the back of Stent Hall, and mid-week, the demolition of the existing stair footing. The mechanical and electrical design/exploration of existing systems work will continue inside the building. The drilling for soldier beams and below-grade shoring will continue in the new Technology Center, and the dirt excavation and off-haul from the site will begin on Wednesday/Thursday.
