Catching Up With Menlo Alumni: February

News and notes shared by Menlo alumni near and far

Alondra Browder Chatman ’92 won the 2019 Natural Olympia as a Figure Pro Bodybuilder. She has been competing for about 10 years, and owns and manages a personal training and fitness studio called The Inner Athlete.

Kristin Gettinger ’92 and her husband recently moved to Redwood City from Seattle with their daughters, ages six and two. Kristin is a stay-at-home mother and loves to write, entertain, cook, walk trails, do art with her girls, and practice meditation. She especially loves to start groups that bring women together to support one another and plans to start one here soon. Kristin’s husband is a marketing tech executive who loves his girls and his phone about equally. While Kristin and her family miss their Seattle friends, they enjoy being back in the Bay Area near family.

Andrea Smith Miller ’92 moved from Houston to Kingwood, TX, about two years ago. Her husband has a new job at Shell, and Andrea runs her own tutoring business. Andrea says that, aside from a few health issues, she is busy with her nine-year-old son.

Freddy Avis ’12 has released a new album under the name Arswain, called Partitioning, now available on streaming platforms. The first music video from the album, for the song “With Ease,” is online.

Chris Sauer ’13 and Sam Redmond ’14, co-founders of visual software company Hedron Vision, have released a free app called “Hands-Free Heart Rate” that aims to measure a person’s pulse through a smartphone’s camera.

Miller Geschke ’18 was named an Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Division III All-American for his play this past season for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was the second consecutive season Miller won First Team honors. He led MIT with 82 goals — the second-highest season goal total in program history — recorded 31 assists, and piled up 43 steals in helping lead the school to a third-place finish in its first appearance in the USA Water Polo Division III National Championship.
