CCS Open: Boys’ basketball closes lead, but falls to Serra

Menlo senior Cole Kastner scored 14 of his 26 points in the fourth in the CCS Open consolation against Serra

In a fight to the finish, the Menlo School boys’ basketball team closed in before falling 59-55 to Serra in the CCS Open consolation on the road Thursday night.
The Knights (20-6) await their CIF-NorCals matchup to be determined in Sunday’s seeding meeting.
Against the Padres, Menlo senior Cole Kastner scored 26, including 14 in the fourth quarter, on 10-of-16 shooting. He also pulled down 11 rebounds and had four steals. Junior Davis Mead contributed 10 points while seniors Max Huber had five rebounds and six points, and Justin Sellers grabbed seven boards. Sophomore Daniel Solomon pitched in with four assists.
