Menlo 52, Pinewood 44
The Menlo boys’ basketball team used a 17-6 run in the final quarter to defeat host Pinewood 52-44 in a WBAL match-up Friday night.
Menlo junior Lucas Vogel scored a game-high 20 points, and pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
The Knights trailed 25-22 at the half and by three points entering the fourth quarter. Daniel Solomon, a senior, scored eight of his 14 points in the fourth. Menlo juniors Robby Enright posted five rebounds and three steals while Will Eggemeier had eight points, four rebounds and three steals.
The Knights (4-2 league, 10-5 overall) next play at Eastside College Prep in a make-up game on Sunday at 1:00 pm

1.25.2022 – In another down-to-the-wire finish, the Menlo boys’ basketball team made a thrilling come back but fell to visiting Woodside Priory 56-53 on Tuesday.
The Knights trailed 30-24 at the half before going on a 19-13 run in the third, and Daniel Solomon sank a three-pointer with 43 seconds left, to tie the score at 43 entering the fourth quarter. Menlo took the lead 50-47 with 4:24 left on a three by Lucas Vogel. Solomon scored a three on Will Eggemeier’s assist to pull to within one, 54-53, Priory led with 22.7 seconds left then sank its free throws to hold on for the win.
Solomon finished with 17 points, Eggemeier with 13 and Vogel added 11 points, seven rebounds. Menlo junior Robby Enright added seven rebounds and four assists.
Menlo moves to 3-2 in WBAL play and 9-5 overall. They play at Pinewood Friday.
