The defending Central Coast Section and West Bay Athletic League champions opened the season with a 7-0 victory over The King’s Academy at home Tuesday.

Menlo sophomore Evan Burnett won at No. 1 singles while freshman Cooper Han, and senior Mick Tamas picked up wins and Nos. 2 and 3. Knights senior Alex Volgin won by default. In doubles, the top-sseded team of Soren Sutaria-Nishan Rajavasireddy won as did junior duo Will Perez and Nikhil Agarwal at No. 2. Sam Engel and Nikjhil Kothari - both sophomores - completed the sweep.
