Baseball tops Half Moon Bay in 7th, splits series

Colin Dhaliwal tripled in the seventh then scored the game winner

Menlo baseball dropped an 8-3 decision to split the season series against Half Moon Bay in PAL-Ocean play Thursday.
The Knights (6-5-1 overall, 2-2 league) trailed 2-1 heading into the fifth before HMB picked up four runs for a 6-3 lead. The Knights Carson Cleage hit a two-run triple, driving in Jack Giesler and Chase Hurwitz who each had base hits.
Menlo returns to play at Woodside on Tuesday.

3.31.2022 – In another down-to-the-wire finish, Menlo baseball defeats Half Moon Bay at home 3-2 in a PAL game Tuesday. Senior Jack Giesler delivered a sac fly in the seventh with the bases loaded for the Knights, who move to 6-4-1 overall and 2-1 Peninsula Athletic League.
With the score tied at 2, Colin Dhaliwal led off the 7th with a triple; Ryan Schnell walked & Trey McNair reached on an error to load bases for Giesler.Ryan Schnell posted the complete-game victory, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out six and walking one.
Menlo heads to Half Moon Bay on Thursday.
