Boys’ soccer falls to University, ties SHC
Knights take early leads in games of University Showcase
12.17.2022 – The Menlo boys’ soccer team picked up a tie and a loss in two San Francisco matches in the University Showcase.
The Knights (1-3-2) tied Sacred Heart Cathedral 1-1. Alessandro Velazquez scored on a free kick in the first on an assist from fellow junior Jacob Lee. Freshman Dylan O’Malley made his prep debut with nine saves.
Menlo dropped a 2-1 decision to University a day later. The Knights led 1-0 before University scored twice in the last 10 minutes. Menlo junior Andre Gonzales Lombera scored on an assist from senior Aidan Skinner.
Menlo next travels to Pinewood for a WBAL opener Wednesday, 1.4.
