Knights 1983 state championship team reunited

Knights fall to SHP on buzzer-beater

Menlo School’s Lucas Vogel converted a three-point play to tie the score, but Sacred Heart dropped a buzzer-beater to win 61-59 Friday night before a packed Athletic Center crowd. Not unexpectedly, the fans got a thriller of a game which typically happens between these teams, records aside.
As time expired, the Gators missed their first attempt, then junior Erick Osterloh grabbed the rebound and released a shot right before the final buzzer.
Vogel finished with 20 points and three steals, junior Julian Brooks posted 10 points and sophomore Tate Cohen added nine. Will Eggemeier, a senior, had seven points and five rebounds for Menlo

The Knights weren’t going away and started the fourth quarter with a 6-0 run in the first four minutes. Brooks Mead started the fourth with a steal and a layup then a steal and dish to Vogel. Sam Reznik added another basket and the Knights trailed 52-51. With 1:31 left. Mead pulls down a rebound, then assists sophomore Tate Cohen and the Knights trailed 59-56 with 1:31 left. Vogel then muscled in the putback and the subsequent free throw to tie the score.
