Boys’ lacrosse defeats M-A, SHC

Knights improve to 3-0 in league
Menlo sophomore Henry Wernikoff had 10 goals in the Knights' two wins over Menlo-Atherton and Sacred Heart Cathedral

The Menlo boys’ lacrosse team defeated Menlo-Atherton 10-6 at home Friday. 

The Knights improved to 4-3 overall, adn face St. Ignatius on Wednesday. 

Against the Bears, sophomore James Wernikoff landed five goals and junior Bradford Tudor posted two goals. Junior Brady Jung compiled a goal, an assist and five groundballs while winning 10 of 15 face-offs.

Senior Lucas Vogel  had a goal and an assist and freshman Benjamin Chock made four saves. Junior Nicky Scacco had a goal and senior Keane Murphy and freshman Trevor Van Der Pyl each added an assist.

Menlo 14, Sacred Heart Cathedral 4

3.22.2023 – The Knights sailed to a 14-4 win over Sacred Heart Cathedral on Wednesday,

Brady Jung, a junior, tallied two goals and an assist, four groundballs and won 12 of 15 face-offs ad Menlo improved to 3-0 West Catholic Athletic League 3-3).  James Wernikoff, a sophomore, posted a hat trick while Keane Murphy, a senior, and Ethan Friesel, a sophomore, each had two goals and an assist. 

Freshman Caden Chock scored twice and senior Lucas Vogel had an assist, four groundballs, and four takeaways. Senior Max Kinder picked up four groundballs. 

 Freshman Benjamin Chock made three saves while juniors Bradford Tudor and Nicky Scacco, and freshman Palmer Riley each added a goal.
