Volleyball wins Silver at Spikefest

Knights finish week 5-1, take fifth at Spikefest

Menlo takes fifth at Spikefest 2023

8.26.2023 – Menlo volleyball dove into the season, going 4-1 to win the Spikefest Silver Division title, taking fifth overall Saturday.
In the Silver Division title game, Menlo defeated Aragon for the second time in a week - this time with a 25-16, 25-9 victory at Los Altos High.
Senior outside Cleo Hardin paved the way for the Knights with 61 kills and a .423 hitting percentage, 21 digs and 10 aces. Junior Lily Kautai tallied 127 assists, 11 digs, 7 kills, 7 blocks and 5 aces. Senior middle Bella Chen posted 17 kills on .462 hitting and had eight blocks.
Senior Aaliyah Sanders finished with 16 kills and 7 blocks while sophomore Ava Wang picked up 29 digs and nine aces. Zoe Zodorwki, also a sophomore, put up 8 blocks and had a team-high 11 aces, and freshman Kinsey Nam added 15 digs and eight aces.
The Knights rolled past Fremont 25-6, 25-20 in the opening round of pool play at Wilcox High then beat Branham 25-22, 25-23, 15-9. Menlo suffered its lone loss in the pool final 25-19, 25-21 to Valley Christian then defeated St. Ignatius 19-25m 25-22, 15-12 to start bracket play.

Mitty won the tournament.


Menlo 3, Aragon 2

8.24.2023 – The Menlo volleyball team opened its season with a dramatic five-set victory at Aragon 22-25, 25-19, 25-12, 17-25, 15-7 on Thursday.
Knights senior outside hitter Cleo Hardin poured in 21 kills while compiling a .405 hitting percentage, and adding a pair of aces. Junior setter Lily Kautai delivered all 46 assists and landed four aces. Senior middle Bella Chen added five kills, hitting .444 and senior Aaliyah Sanders added 11 kills.
